Emergency situations may not be something we want to think about, but they can happen at anytime. If you have a First-Aid Kit for you and your family, you might also want to make sure you have one for your furry friend! The following are tips on how to be prepared with a First-Aid Kid for your JRT.

See your vet before leaving on any kind of trip with your JRT, and ensure they are up to date on all vaccines. A list of your phone number, your vets phone number, your vets address, and vaccines your dog has had should be included in the kit.

Supplies
Along with the list of your dogs information, the following supplies should be included in your First-Aid Kit:
- Gauze pads
- Adhesive tape
- Cotton balls/pads
- Hydrogen peroxide
- Tweezers
- Ice pack
- Gloves (disposable)
- Scissors
- Extra food & water
- Antibiotic spray
- Eyedropper
- Leash
- Towel/blanket
- Thermometer
Anything Else?
If your dog has a favorite treat, you may want to put that in the kit that to reward good behavior during an emergency. You can put anything else you may find to be necessary for an emergency in your First-Aid Kit. The more prepared you are, the more peace of mind you will have, even in a bad situation.
