JRT’s-Small Dog But Big Personality

Think of your most social friend(s). When it comes down to it, it seems like they just never run out of anything to say, and know just about everybody when you go out. Well our JRT friends can be a lot like that sometimes. But the biggest question is…WHY? So we decided to look into that, and try to come up with an answer ourselves. And this is our conclusion!

The Jack Russell Terrier is a breed that was made for hunting and working. And when they’re not doing that, they are out playing, or simply just doing something. They are the type of dog that has trouble just sitting around (although that’s not true for all).

Our JRT friends are also very good runners and love a good chase, which is why you see them jumping and running all around. They will practically run up to anyone and everyone-whether it be them being a good protective watchdog, or just being a lovable little pup, they certainly aren’t shy. It’s just not in their DNA.

JRT’s are also known to be the “leaders”. Which is why they typically don’t seem to have a problem going up to strangers and getting acquainted with new people. Which can be very helpful when new people come over to visit, or when going out in public. But it does take them a bit to get used to strangers, so be aware of the barking-hence why they make the best watchdogs!

All in all, these dogs can be super duper friendly if trained correctly, and are so social and full of energy! Nothing beats a JRT and the joy that shines from their almond-shaped eyes! They may be so full of energy and spunk, but they never fail to make our day!
